Horton HS and Everest MS will be represented by 11 talented instrumental students Saturday, December 7th at the Northeast Kansas Music Educators mini-convention at Seaman HS in Topeka. The HHS will be represented by Tori Jelks on french horn, playing in the Blue Band at 3:30. EMS will be represented by 7th graders Katani Ortiz-flute, Skya Masuch-clarinet, Jarvis Ramirez-tenor saxophone and Eli Wilson-tuba at a concert at 1:00pm. 8th graders also playing at the 1:00 concert are Tiffin Lanter-clarinet, Noah Fassnacht-oboe, Carlee Paden-bassoon, Chenoa Thomas-bass clarinet, Bella White- trombone, and Curtis Hammersmith-euphonium. Congratulations!

In tech class the 8th graders just completed designing a roller coaster. The girls competed against the boys. They had to create a cool interesting design that also worked with a marble. The 3 judges chose the girls design based on creativity, appearance, and efficiency.


EMS will be hosting the Quarter Final Round of the NEKL Girls basketball tournament on Monday, December 9. EMS girls will play the winner of Jackson Heights vs McLouth game. EMS will play at approximately 6:00pm.
