NED's Resiliency Ride is visiting HES on Wednesday, January 29th.
NED's Resiliency Ride, is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best.
During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor, and yo-yo tricks.

KTOY Part 3: After a delicious lunch at Lentz Express Catering (they provided our breakfast too!), we finished with a trip to EMS. There, visitors had another mini-concert, and visited three CTE introductory courses. We have so much to be proud of in Charger Country!











KTOY Part 2: While at the elementary school, our visitors got to hear our HES school song, learned about our class wide intervention program, Leader in Me, and WIN room. They also visited with Ms. Thorpe's class about the holidays the class have learned about!











KTOY Part 1: As part of the Kansas Teacher of the Year program, Ms. Thorpe has been traveling to other districts, Friday was her opportunity to host!

EMS students recently participated in the Knights of Columbus free throw competition. Students received 1st 2nd and 3rd place medals for their achievements. The winners will compete at Horton High School on February 1 for the district championship.


Mrs. Thorson’s 1st graders welcomed a special guest reader today! Thank you Stephanie Farr for sharing a book with us!



Chargers will be playing in the Championship on Saturday in McLouth. They defeated McLouth, 74-41.


Lady Chargers will be playing for 3rd place on Saturday in McLouth. Tonight they fell to MHMA, 47-52, after 2 OTs.


McLouth requests that fans avoid arriving at their facility before 3:30 for the girls basketball game tonight, as the game starts at 3:45 and their students are not dismissed until 3:15. This will help ensure smooth traffic flow and adequate parking.

K-6th grade staff have been working through the adoption process for an updated ELA/Reading resource. It has been narrowed down to 2 resources -- Benchmark Advance and Amplify CKLA. If you are interested in looking at these materials feel free to stop by the board office or use the links to review online.
