Many of our USD 430 students are hitting the fields and playing for Everest Little League this summer. All are invited to cheer for our teams, visit the concession stand for a chili-cheese dog, and enjoy the atmosphere. Hope to see you there!

The 7th grade enjoyed their PTO sponsored field trip on Thursday, May 12th. The students spend their morning at Lecompton visiting the Territorial Capital Museum and Constitutional Hall. They also participated in a Bleeding Kansas Reenactment put on by the Lecompton Actors. After lunch, they traveled to Lawrence where they toured the Watkins Museum of History and took a walking tour of historical landmarks dating back to Quantrill's Raid of 1863. The day was a success!

Thanks to the patrons of USD #430 voting for the Bond issue for improvements throughout our schools. We have had construction workers in our school for the past few months and they have done an absolutely fabulous job working around all the students and staff. The staff of Horton Elementary wanted to show our appreciation to them and furnished some goodies for them to enjoy during their breaks and lunchtime. Thank You all for doing a magnificent job while making all these improvements throughout our school.

Mr. Harper will be leaving us at the end of this school year for new adventures. His first class he taught at HES is graduating from Horton High School this year. Seniors who had the joy of working with Mr. Harper during their 3rd or 4th grade years are with him in one photo. The other photo is Mr. Harper with his homeroom students that are graduating this year. We wish everyone all the best, teacher and graduates!
