
Congratulations to the HES Charger All-Stars this week! Students have learned the importance of building others Emotional Bank Accounts and to consider other people's wins as well as their own. This week we will be talking about having an Abundance Mentality and will discuss the importance of balancing Courage and Consideration for a Win-Win.


Mrs. Hisle’s Kindergartners & Mrs. Wischropp’s 2nd Graders worked together on a “Think Win-Win” project. After reading “The Rainbow Fish”, 2nd Graders helped their K buddies make fish by tracing their hand on blue paper & adding scales, including some very special ones. Win-Win!





A huge shout out to the Brown County Sheriff deputies. They are holding a CPR class for our HHS Seniors!


Mrs. Scherer was our “Word of the Day” winner during week two.


EMS boy's basketball will play at home tonight Jan. 23, at 4:30. We will host Xavier for B and A team games. Go Chargers!

Reminder for EMS 7th/8th Choir students that we are singing the National Anthem for our home game tomorrow, Jan 23rd! Please meet in the choir room by 4:15pm to warm up as a group! If you need to stay after school, the choir room will be open for you to wait in until we sing!

HHS Boys Basketball: The Boys Basketball Team will travel to JCN tonight. JV-Boys will start at 6:00pm & the Varsity Boys will immediately follow the JV game and will start around 7:15-7:30. (No Girls Games Tonight)

Fourth grade students had an opportunity to sign up for different Leadership roles. This group of gals signed up to help create bulletin boards. They did a fabulous job creating this month’s bulletin board display!

HHS Girls Basketball: Congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team for defeating Maranatha Academy last night in the McLouth Invitational Tournament last night 37-25. Their next game will be Saturday, 1-21-23 @ 11:30am vs. McLouth in the Purple (North) Gym. Good Luck Girls!


We are finally ready to start climbing the rock wall at EMS. The students have been waiting a long time for this day. We would like to thank Melinda Handley for the work she did in writing the "Wolfe Grant". Exciting day to be a Charger!





As we enter the winter weather season, please remember that all changes in the school schedule will be announced on our district website, through social media, phone messages, KNZA, WIBW, and KSNT.


If you ordered trash bags from a senior they will be arriving at the school tomorrow. Delivery should begin on Friday.


Stuco and the Horton Alumni are raffling off tickets to win a $6400 Hooray Grill. You may purchase tickets at the board office or the high school (Mrs. Hayden). If you are interested email haydenm@usd430.org. The grill is on display during home basketball games. The drawing will be in May and the tickets are $100 with only 100 being sold. The money will go towards new sound boards for the gym. Check out a flyer when you go into a business.
