EMS 5th Grade went on a walking field trip today to Rainbow Communications in Everest today as part of their career exploration activities. Thank you for having us visit and learn about careers at Rainbow Communications!




EMS students Addy Oswald Bailey Dvorak Jax Wenger and Makenzie Thompson completed the Steps to the Capital challenge during the 3rd quarter. The completed 60 miles on the equipment in the weight room. Today we visited the capital in Topeka and had lunch as an incentive. Way to go!!

Exciting News – Welcoming Mr. John West as Director of Special Education
Dear Hiawatha and South Brown County Communities,
On behalf of the Brown County Special Education Interlocal Board, I am excited to announce the unanimous approval and appointment of Mr. John West as our new Director of Special Education.
Mr. West brings over 25 years of educational experience, including 15 years in international education, and has taught students from grades 3 through 12. Most recently, he served as superintendent at Altoona-Midway, where he focused on building inclusive and engaging learning environments.
The Board is confident that Mr. West’s leadership, global perspective, and passion for student success will be a tremendous asset to our schools and communities. We look forward to the positive impact he will make in the lives of our students and families.

EMS would like to recognize Elsie Bryant who broke the EMS school record in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 17.74 at the NEKL track meet yesterday. Elsie's time also broke the NEKL 7th grade girls meet record. Way to go Elsie!!

2024 Poetry Out Loud State Champion Victoria Jelks won $500.00 to purchase poetry books for her school district. Here she is reading poetry to the third graders this morning when she delivered a big box of new books to their library at Horton Elementary.
Today, the EMS Track team is going to Pleasant Ridge (Easton) for the NEK League track meet. Field events begin at 10 am. Running events start after the conclusion of field events. Good Luck Chargers!
