The Horton Elementary students collected donations for the local food pantry. They had a competition between our school teams to see which team donated the most items. The winning team was "The Awesome Pink Ally's" by collecting 516 items. Team members are Mrs. Curry's preschoolers, Mrs. Alyssa Hisle's kindergarteners, Mrs. Wischropp's 2nd graders and Mr. Harper's 4th graders. The total donated to the food pantry was 1,418 food items. Today we had 2 wonderful assemblies for Native American Heritage Month! Native Chef Jason Champagne gave a wonderful speech about his life along with an awesome cooking demonstration. Then, HHS Alumni Nicole McReeves came back and spoke about growing up here and what amazing thing she has accomplished. Both speakers spoke at EMS and HHS!
