
This week in USD 430...


Due to the self initiated boil order in the city of Horton, we are asking for all students at Horton Elementary School and Horton High School to bring a water bottle from home.
Throughout the day, the district will offer bottled water as needed.


Thanks to everyone that came out today to make sure the playground equipment at Horton Elementary is ready for students!



Charger PTO families that participated in the fundraiser, the Texas Roadhouse rolls will be available for pick up from Everest Middle School on Tuesday, October 25. The pickup times are 5-7 pm. Families that sold rolls please plan to get your orders Tuesday night, so that you can make deliveries to your family and friends.


HES will be participating in the Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days October 24-28.

Congratulations to the HS V and JV Scholars Bowl teams tonight! Tonight at JCN the JV placed 3rd and the Varsity placed 4th ending in a 3-way tie for second! Way to go! #ChargeOn

Junior Class Parents/Students Meeting -- On Tuesday, October 25, there will be a Junior Class Meeting for Parents and Students at 6:30 p.m. in the HS Commons. All juniors and parents should be at this meeting if possible.

Horton High School Volleyball will play their Sub-State VB Tournament at JCN Saturday, October 22nd. They will play their first match against Pleasant Ridge around 3:00pm. The winner of that match will play the winner of JCN & Riverside.

The Senior class is selling cookies to help pay for our Senior Trip to Branson. There are 4 types of cookies or you can get an assorted package. Each dozen is $16. Please see a senior if you would like to buy some cookies. They freeze very well. Thank You!! If you don't know a senior please let Mrs. Hayden know and she will help you out. All orders are due on Tuesday.


HES is looking for volunteers to help install our new playground equipment on Friday, October 21st. If you are available to help for the day or just for a few hours during the day let us know. Please call the elementary school @ 785-486-2616.


The Charger After School Program has open enrollment from October 17-28. Enrollment papers will be available during Parent Teacher Conferences. Please contact Jessica Paden with any questions you may have.
