Today we celebrate the families that make up South Brown County schools.
Parental involvement means reading to your children, checking homework every night, limiting television viewing or screen time on school nights, developing a relationship with your child's teacher, and simply asking children about their school day. Whatever the level of involvement, it is important to be consistent to make a difference in your children's lives.

Let's share and care! It's time for the HES Food Drive. Please help us collect non-perishable food items for our local food pantry. The grade level that collects the most food items will get to deliver the items to the food pantry. We will collect items until November 30th.

Congratulations to the following students for selection into NEKMEA District Honor Bands. Tori Jelks - Horn - HS Blue Band, Ellah Stirton - Horn - 9th grade band, Cydney Weinmann - Bass Clarinet - 9th grade band, Jonas Crismas - Euphonium - 9th grade band, Tiffin Lanter - Clarinet - 7/8 band, Thatcher Strube - Trumpet - 7/8 band, Carlee Paden - Bassoon - 7/8 band, and Noah Fassnacht - Oboe alternate - 7/8 band. They will perform at Seaman HS in Topeka on December 2.
Kindergarten celebrated Veterans Day on Friday, with lan and Jessica Saxton. They talked about what their responsibilities are within The United States Army. One highlight of the visit was the American flag 🇺🇸 patch that each student received. Thank you to everyone who has served and to those still actively serving to protect our country!
HES received some very special mail today! Santa's Elves were busy and made sure we received tickets today for breakfast with Santa on Dec. 2, 2023. Tickets are $30.00 per family or $8.00 per individual. Be sure and stop by our front office and get your ticket early!
Let's celebrate Education in South Brown County. Today marks the kickoff for American Education Week 2023. Each day of the week has its own theme, during which we celebrate our public school community!

Join the HS Musical for a Soup Fundraiser tonight before the Musical Performance at 7:00. Soup will be served from 5:30 - 6:30. Soup fundraiser is free will donation. Come support the students and enjoy the musical!
EMS Wrestling traveled to the Silver Lake Jr. High wrestling tournament. 🤼Will Allen, 8th grade, came away with 2nd place in his weight class.
Sixth graders participated in a Veterans Day escape room in English/Language Arts. Students read information about the origin of day and completed puzzles to escape.
