🪐 ADVENTURE THROUGH THE SOLAR SYSTEM! Summer STEAM Camp Day 3 at Horton Elementary took our young explorers on an exciting journey through the planets!

Today campers became planetary scientists as they created their own paper solar systems, compared the incredible distances between planets, and used their imaginations to design and build their very own unique planets complete with special features . Our astronauts also enjoyed making healthy and delicious rocket fruit kabobs while learning how nutritious foods help fuel explorers for their missions. The highlight of the day was a special visit from a Solar System Ambassador with NASA, who shared fascinating information about our solar system and what it would be like to visit a planet!

Day 3 was filled with creativity, exploration, hands-on learning, and plenty of excitement as our campers continued their mission through space. We can't wait to see what adventures await our astronauts next!

Stay tuned as our Summer STEAM Camp journey continues!

🌙 TO THE MOON! Summer STEAM Camp Day 2 at Horton Elementary was a lunar adventure filled with hands-on learning, creativity, and fun! 🌙

Today our young astronauts explored Earth's closest neighbor—the Moon! Campers engineered and tested their own moon landers, discovered the eight phases of the moon using Oreo cookies, created detailed moon maps, and even made edible moon rocks that were as delicious as they were fun to create. Students also had the opportunity to unleash their creativity during a special art activity with our traveling art teacher.

Day 2 was packed with exploration, problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork as we continued our journey through space. Our astronauts are learning that every mission requires curiosity, perseverance, and imagination!

Stay tuned as our Summer STEAM Camp crew continues their exciting adventure through the cosmos!
