Middle School Student Council members volunteered to help fill bags for Horton's Annual Night of Lights celebrations


Everest Student Council made and delivered Cookie trays to area businesses to thank them for supporting the school.

On November 18, members of Horton High School NASA came to Everest Middle School to talk to the students for Native American Heritage month. Students and staff at the middle school participated in the "Potato Dance".





On November 18th, the NASA club from high school brought the Potato Dance to the students at EMS. The students heard about the Native American culture from our NASA members, and were able to participate in the dance.

November is Native American Heritage Month; next week, on the 28th, 29th, and 30th students are encouraged to wear their traditional threads!

Our schools will administer the mySAEBRS universal screener through FastBridge December 6-12th. mySAEBRS is taken by students in grades 3-12 and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.
Per Kansas legislation, in order to complete this screener, we need parental permission. Information was shared at Parent Teacher Conferences in October, you may have given permission then. Mrs. Campbell’s Human Growth & Development class just finished their Birth defects unit and was honored to have Donnie & Ronda Bohannon from the Holton Shriners. They shared about the services that are provided to disabled children through the Shiners Hospital.





The ACT will be given at Horton High School on March 7.
This is offered to all Kansas Juniors for FREE!
Students should sign up in the Horton High School office.

EMS: There is a letter sent home with your child today in regards to a field trip that we will be taking on December 14, to the Nutcracker Ballet in Topeka. Please have your student return the permission form back to the office by Tuesday, November 22.
