New Staff -
We welcomed Julie Geiger, Marissa Blanton and Gary Sorensen to our team on January 3.
● Julie Geiger is joining us as our 9th/10th grade ELA teacher. She comes to us from Topeka
Hayden High School. Julie also taught at KNS for several years before Topeka Hayden. She
comes highly recommended and we are excited to have her on our team!
● Marissa Blanton joins us as the Office Manager. She comes with a wealth of office experience in banking and medical offices. We are very pleased to have her join us!
● Gary Sorensen joins us from semi-retirement. His career includes being a teacher, a basketball coach and a high school counselor at Jackson Heights, Royal Valley and also had a previous stint at Horton High School. He will be working two days a week with our students for College and Career readiness. He is a welcome addition to our staff!
Scholars Bowl -
Congratulations to Ms. Bush and the Scholars Bowl team on winning the NEK League Scholars Bowl at Maur Hill! Team members competing include: Trevor Ottman, Taylor Dvorak, Trent Ottman, Jack Allen, Jon Boller and Luke Mathewson. Good luck at Regional Scholars Bowl!
Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Scholars Bowl teams have had outstanding seasons either winning or placing in the top 2-3 at most of the tournaments. Way to go Chargers!
