Covid Protocols

South Brown County USD 430 School Community,

I wanted to take a moment to share with you Covid Protocols for the upcoming school year.  The USD 430 Safe Return Plan is posted on the district website under the menu tab.

USD 430 will continue to monitor and track Covid cases in our area.  The main focus has been and will be to provide a safe learning environment for all of our students and staff.  If your child is sick please stay home and contact your healthcare provider.  At this time, our plans for the start of the 2021-2022 school year are to remove all restrictions.  Face coverings are optional for both students and staff.  Anyone who chooses to wear a face-covering will be encouraged to do so and will be supported.  USD 430 will not require the vaccine for students or staff as this is a personal choice that we will continue to respect.

The Brown County Health Department will be following the CDC Guidelines for quarantines.  If a student is in close contact and they have been vaccinated, they will only need to monitor for symptoms, no quarantine.  Students who are not vaccinated and have been in close contact will need to be quarantined for up to 10 days.  If parents have any COVID vaccine questions, they should seek the advice of their healthcare provider.

I am currently looking into other options that may help reduce the spread of Covid and the loss of instructional time for our students.  This option may include testing strategies if consent is given by legal guardians.  More information on this topic will be shared as the district learns more.

USD 430 will continue to practice social distancing when possible, will still encourage good hygiene practices, and will still be using research-based cleaning methods and cleaning solutions as we did last year.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact your building principal or me at the district office.

Sincerely,

Jason Cline

Superintendent
