What Is NASA?

NASA is a club that was formed in 1997 as a way to share with the student body and district as a whole the unique culture of the Native American Tribes represented within our district. Currently, our district has over 20 different Native American tribes represented in grades K-12.

Anyone can join NASA; you do not have to be Native American, but you do have to have an interest in the culture.

What do we do?

We support culture within the school district by working with the JOM program and being directly involved in the planning and activities of Native American Heritage Month in November and throughout the school year, including games, reading to younger students, crafts, and presentations. We go on field trips and leadership seminars. As a group, we create our own fundraisers in order to attend local Pow wows, Round Dances, and college visits. We provide community support as needed, volunteering for multiple community events.

Our Plans

It is our hope, through fundraising and other resources for eligible members to attend the National JOM Conference, National Unity Conference  and Gathering of the Nations Pow Wow annually. It is also important that we do as much as we can to share our culture, traditions, and beliefs with our school district to encourage understanding, respect, and reduce misconceptions.
