Each month, Horton High School, will select a student-athlete of the month. These students selected show effort and excellence in the classroom and the field of play, dedication to the team, leadership, integrity, and the ability to serve as a role model for current and future Horton High School student-athletes.
Male Student-Athlete of the Month:
Matthew excels in the classroom and through his hard work and dedication to the team. Matthew returned from injury and saw his first action of varsity quarterback in his career, starting the final three games of the season. In the month of October, Matthew lead the team in rushing with 55 carries for 328 yards, good for 5.96 yards per carry and 110 yards per game. He also scored two touchdowns.
Female Student-Athlete of the Month:
Kylie excels in the classroom and is one of the most improved players on the court, particularly in serve receives. She was one of our top performers in serve receive for perfect passes notching 55 for the season. Her coaches
admired her will to work hard in practice daily and her ability to encourage and support other team members. These examples of leadership were a key component in leading the team to victory.
